Lindsay Lohan's mom Dina has a lot to worry about these days. Her 24-year-old daughter has only been out of rehab for about a month, and already Lindsay is in some seriously scalding hot water, facing felony theft charges and jail time for allegedly stealing a $2500 necklace. On top of that, the 48-year-old showbiz mom is reportedly livid following a couple of choice jabs Katie Couric threw her way on Sunday night's Glee.
In the post-Super Bowl episode of the hit musical comedy series, veteran newswoman Couric guest-starred as herself, interviewing Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch), who had been named "loser of the year." The list of losers the over-the-top cheerleading coach beat out to win the top honor included "the economy, Mel Gibson, the housing market, Dina Lohan, Wall Street, Tiger Woods, the Dallas Cowboys, Brett Favre's cell phone, 9 percent unemployment and Sparky Lohan, who is Dina Lohan's dog and, apparently, also a loser." According to PopEater, Dina isn't laughing at all. A friend tells the celeb gossip site, "Dina is hurt and shocked and hasn't done anything to deserve this constant teasing from this show."
PopEater also spoke with Dina's ex-husband and Lindsay's father Michael Lohan, who said: "As true as this might be, it's wrong. Dina deserves a lot worse of a title after all she has done to destroy the relationships with my kinds and entire family." Yikes.
The Lohan family has already been burned by Glee once before. When Gwyneth Paltrow guest-starred as a substitute teacher, she taught her Spanish class with phrases such as "Lindsay Lohan is totally crazy, right?" and "How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?"
Dina was furious over the incident, telling RadarOnline.com, "Lindsay is so upset with Gywneth. [She] was watching it while [in rehab at] Betty Ford, then she called me and was upset and said, 'Why did she have to do that?'" Mama Lohan added: "Linsday thought [Gwyneth] was a friend and it was disappointing. It was really hard for her to watch... It was hurtful and not funny."
It's safe to say that Lindsay and Dina won't be making any Glee cameos in the near future. We hope, though, that a show that takes such a strong stance on anti-bullying and self-acceptance can practice what they preach and lay off on the cheap cracks at a clearly troubled young woman and her family.
