Jessica Simpson and her publicist pal Lauren Auslander stepped out of the Ritz Hotel in NYC this afternoon. The girls were off on a mission during Jessica's second day in the Big Apple, since she and fianc� Eric Johnson headed there from LA on Wednesday. Jessica and Eric's stay on the East Coast has coincided with rumors that Jessica is in the running for a big new job as a cohost on Simon Cowell's X Factor, though she laughed off the stories on her way home from dinner at the ABC Kitchen last night.
